[PERSONALITY]

If you're looking for a true hero and someone with a great sense of justice, look no further than Sonic the Hedgehog. He's known as the fastest thing alive, able to easily crack speeds of mach one and beyond in seconds flat, and without showing any signs of fatigue. Some could say that he's symbolic to the wind, coming and going as he pleases, rain or shine, as well as being calm and soothing or bringing forth a hurricane. He's very competitive, looking for nearly any excuse to confront a challenge with someone, whether it be a race, a fight, and maybe an eating contest, but you'll more then likely see him always on the go.

Not liking boredom, this hedgehog of supersonic speed is never in one place for too long. His purpose in life is to run, fight for the world and the people in it, and most importantly of all, to live the life of an extreme adventurer. Exploration and adventuring are his forté as he takes any new ground that he happens to set foot on, and turns it into another challenge for himself, one way or another. Whatever his methods of doing things are, it has always been his way and no one elses; compared with rules and common sense, Sonic follows his own rules, living life to the fullest. He always keeps his promises, never betrays anyone, but follows his own plan, usually. He may be an extremist this way when it comes to action and fun, but that doesn't mean that the blue blur enjoys some down time, in which he loves relaxation (usually at the beach; ironically he can't swim). However, no matter how long or short the time he's on vacation, Sonic will always put down whatever he's doing in the face in injustice, never one to rest in times of peril.

He is extremely benevolent, and would willingly put himself at risk for others, taking on any challenge that confronts him without hesitation; and with a 'go get em'' attitude to boot! "It might even be fun!" Sonic is generally one of the nicest rodents you could ever meet, and his hot and cool-guy attitude tends to click with many people. If you're his enemy or someone that's just not on his good side however, be prepared to be taunted and sarcastically chided by the heroic hedgehog. He's got plenty of witty remarks at his disposal, and the ability to back them up.

For having such unique abilities such as being able to exceed the speed of sound and harnessing the power of the Chaos Emeralds, he is most certainly not modest about his phenominal feats. In fact, he is often portrayed as being narcissistic, self-absorbed, and very egotistical; nevertheless, he is always shown to be caring and selfless when it comes to his actions.

When you think you're all alone in facing the wind, Sonic will get you through in a pinch.

[HISTORY]

Whether he’s chomping down on a chili dog or thrashing mechanical baddies with his blinding speed, Sonic the Hedgehog has always been there to play the role of a true hero. In some cases, it has been the same usual routine for him, as the maniacal scientist, Doctor Eggman, would enslave the inhabitants of his home world and turn them into robots. It was at this time that Sonic sprung into action to thwart this threat and save the planet, one heart-stopping adventure at a time. Shortly after defeating Eggman for the first time, this would be a crucial moment in the hedgehog’s life where he would encounter his greatest ally, and his best friend. Miles “Tails” Prower was bedazzled by Sonic’s wicked speed, and once the two-tailed fox proved to him that he was actually capable of keeping up with him, the two became inseparable; they would continue to share adventures together, inspiring one another to better themselves in the name of freedom and all that was right.

Sadly, Eggman would soon strike again with another horrid plot. Same old, same old; but this time, Sonic had help from his best friend. And together, the team was able to thwart the doctor’s plans once more and put him out of commission. For now, there was actually time for the two to kick back and relax while they relished in the peace that their hard-work brought for them. However, where there is peace, a war is always on the horizon; Sonic would be forced into action once again, upon arriving on a mysterious island (known as the floating island, or Angel Island to be more specifically), the hedgehog and his fox friend encountered a new face, who immediately posed as a threat and rival to even Sonic himself. Knuckles the Echidna, who was deceived by Eggman to believe that Sonic was intending on stealing the sacred Master Emerald that the guardian protected, he made it his sworn duty to ensure that Sonic and Tails would pay for intruding on his island and punish them by any means necessary. Soon enough though, even through the turmoil, the pranks, and the new and exciting adventures that the island had in store, the hero triumphed once more. Venturing further into the depths of the island, encountering Knuckles on multiple occasions once again, behind the curtains, the wicked villain was at work. He planned on betraying Knuckles in the end, only to steal the Master Emerald for his own ambitions so that he could empower his ultimate weapon, the Death Egg. Unfortunately, it was too late for Knuckles to realize in time that he had been played like a fiddle, and Eggman nearly got away with this horrid scheme. That was, until Sonic stepped up to the plate in order to put an end to Eggman’s finest plan yet.

Pursuing the doctor into outer space and onto the weapon known as the Death Egg, Sonic encountered him in what he could only hope would be their final battle. It was now or never. It was Doomsday; harnessing the power of all seven Chaos Emeralds, he transformed into the invincible Super Sonic, retrieving the Master Emerald back after destroying Eggman’s machine that made a getaway with the powerful gem. Peace and tranquility was restored to Angel Island, as it quickly arose into the heavens. And although rivals, Knuckles the Echidna had found a friend as well in the blue hedgehog.

Surprisingly? After this chain of events, Sonic actually had some time to wind down for a much longer period of time, spending his days in Station Square, living the good life without having to take deal with injustice. That was, until the appearance of a mysterious god-like entity appeared. It was with this that Sonic was once more forced into action, and after an initial struggle with Chaos, the God of Destruction that was the guardian of the race known as the Chao, he would once again have the fate of the world thrust upon him. It was revealed that Dr. Eggman was using Chaos, collecting the seven Chaos Emeralds once more to empower it to bring destruction to the world. Upon its ruins, he would build Robotnikland, the ultimate city where he would rule over all. Not on Sonic’s watch! In a scramble to collect the emeralds, ultimately in the end, Chaos got what he sought after, achieving his perfect form and nearly destroying the entire world. However, using the positive energy of the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic was once again able to transform and neutralize the dark ambitions of Chaos; Super Sonic had returned once again. All was well that ended well, right?

Not exactly… That plan of Eggman’s was wicked to be sure, but it paled in comparison to his master plan. Ruling the world on account of his Grandfather’s legacy. After obtaining assistance from the enigmatic black hedgehog only known as Shadow, the Ultimate Life Form created by Gerald Robotnik, and the secret government spy, Rouge the Bat, he planned on collecting all seven Chaos Emeralds once more and powering the Eclipse Cannon, a secret weapon aboard the Space Colony ARK that was more then capable of destroying an entire planet at full power. He demonstrated it’s might upon the moon, in which half of it was destroyed instantaneously. Again? Who other then Sonic the Hedgehog and the gang to try and put a stop to the trio’s plans? After many hardships, through all the mayhem, the misunderstandings (Sonic was even arrested for being mistaken as Shadow the Hedgehog). The two newfound rivals would eventually clash as they fought for separate goals. To save the world, or to destroy it in the name of a lost one. Unfortunately, Eggman’s plans weren’t the most sinister, as it was revealed that once all seven Chaos Emeralds were placed into the engine chamber of the Eclipse Cannon, that the entire ARK would plummet towards Earth, destroying everything and bringing forth a series of apocalyptic events. Villains and heroes united in an attempt to save the world. Sonic couldn’t stand for injustice, and Eggman just couldn’t stand to see the world that he planned on conquering become a pile of rubble.

This disaster was soon led astray by the combined efforts of Super Sonic and Super Shadow, with the power of Chaos Control, a power granted to those that can harness the energy of the Chaos Emeralds (it can be manipulated into many forms of power, but mainly consists of manipulating time and space). However, through this heroic act as Shadow came to his senses about the promise he made to Maria, Shadow also sacrificed his life as well. Once more, all was well.

Upon one of his daily ‘jogs’, Sonic was met up with by his old friends Tails and Knuckles. The three of them had received a letter from Dr. Eggman himself, inviting them to try and stop his new plan. It sounded like a trap, but as well, the blue hedgehog knew that the doc liked to flap his gums about his new toys. So it was just another excuse to party again! As a team, they formed Team Sonic and would head out on a crusade to nail Eggman once again. Along the way, they would surprisingly encounter old friends and rivals, some pleasant and some rather shocking. Shadow had seemingly survived the incident surrounding the ARK, however without any memory of what had transpired. Along the way, they would be fortunate enough to swipe some Chaos Emeralds to help them along on the road to victory as they encountered Eggman, defeating him once again, or so it seemed.

Was it truly Eggman to begin with? In fact, long ago Sonic had encountered a mechanical copy of himself, known as Metal Sonic, Dr. Eggman’s finest creation. However, despite being the finest, it was also the most evil as it even betrayed its own master, aspiring to create an entire world of artificial life forms, and to finally defeat Sonic the Hedgehog, as he was programmed to do. It took the combined efforts of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles all harnessing the power of the Chaos Emeralds to defeat him. In the end though, Sonic’s closing remarks to his metal counterpart were inviting as usual; “Anytime you want a rematch, just let me know. I’ll be waiting.” And like the wind, he was off, ready to face new challenges, whatever they may have been.

And it wouldn’t be long until his next adventure would unfold. The Black Arms, an alien race that had a very strong connection to Shadow’s past, would attempt to invade the Earth. While Sonic would do his hardest to protect it, it was ultimately Shadow the Hedgehog who would play the role of savior for the world, as he destroyed the Black Arms and rid himself of his horrid past forever.

Incidents revolving about the city of water, Soleana, were mysteriously erased from history, as well as Sonic’s memory of whatever transpired there… Sonic doesn’t remember, only having the slightest case of déjà vu when it comes to the Princess of the kingdom, Elise. In another time, you could say, Sonic had arrived as Dr. Eggman had the idea of unleashing the fabled Flames of Disaster upon the world, and of course, once more, requiring the Chaos Emeralds to trigger this power. Where there is a crazed doctor with robots however, there is Sonic the Hedgehog! And soon after, the Princess and quick-paced animal were hardly seen apart. Was there something more? Or were they just good friends? Ultimately, there was no way to tell, because the entire chain of events was erased, due to the destruction of Solaris, the Eternal Sun God who was capable of destroying the universe and pulling time in on itself completely. And apparently, Sonic was the trigger for this event; the Iblis Trigger, as described by the mysterious Mephiles the Dark. The secret to Iblis and Solaris…lied within the tears of Princess Elise. Yes, as a child she had the demon sealed within her out of desperation, and only through tears can the monstrosity be released upon the world bring about an inevitable apocalypse. It seemed that Mephiles knew just how to push that button though, as he actually succeeded in doing something that even Dr. Eggman could not.

Sonic the Hedgehog…was dead, murdered in cold-blood from behind by Mephiles, right before a horrified Elise’s eyes. With Iblis released upon her inevitable weeping for the now departed hero, Mephiles was also able to become complete with the entity and finally reform Solaris in all of its mighty glory. The entire universe and time as they knew it was in jeopardy. But there was one final key to the resurrection of hope, and even Sonic himself. The Chaos Emeralds. In a scramble to collect them in time, through the prayers and power of the Chaos Emeralds, as well as a kiss from Elise herself…like a phoenix arising from the ashes, Sonic was reborn, emerging as Super Sonic to confront his most dangerous threat yet. Transferring his power with Shadow and Silver (the Hedgehog who hailed from the future and mistook Sonic for the cause of the world’s destruction), they all achieved their super forms, and battled the seemingly invincible god. After wiping it’s conscious out of commission, Sonic and Elise were both transported back in time to the very beginning, where it all began. When Solaris was simply a harmless white flame. Should they extinguish the flame, all of the events that transpired revolving around Iblis, Sonic, Elise, and everyone, would all fade away, and their memory of one another would be non-existent. Confident in that they might meet again someday, Sonic simply told her to “Smile.” And so she did…gently blowing out the flames of Solaris, and ridding the world and the fabric of time of its greatest threat.

With his memory wiped clean of all of those events, Sonic the Hedgehog was ready to move on and continue running, to continue to not look before he leapt. But in the process, he thought that he just might take some time to wind down again and curl up by the fire and read a book. The 1001 Arabian Nights, that is; as he read through the magical tales of the storybook, he soon dozed off into a small nap, but magic was in the air that night, as a sincere and desperate voice called out to him, awakening a groggy hedgehog from his sleep. Reaching over the table that was beside him, placing down the book, he suddenly found himself in possession of some mysterious ring. It wasn’t like the rings that he was familiar with either, it felt different… And suddenly, the voice called out again, “You are the blue hedgehog!” Well, that was no surprise; Sonic knew who he was, but he certainly didn’t know what to expect when a mysterious woman emerged from the ring. Alarmed, the hero was caught off guard easily, but his concerns were quickly put to rest and into curiosity when she claimed herself to be someone by the name of Shahra, the Genie of the Ring. There was little time for chit-chat however, as it was revealed that a powerful entity known as the Erazor Djinn was threatening to destroy not only the world of the Arabian Nights, but eventually Sonic’s own world as well. This could have spelt trouble for everyone if the blue hedgehog hadn’t stepped up to the plate.

With the power of Shahra, becoming the new Master of the Genie of the Ring, Sonic the Hedgehog was swept into another adventure; over beds of golden sand, through luscious jungles, through ruins beyond the skies, swashbuckling with pirates, wandering amongst the dead, and through beautiful palaces blanketed by darkness and only the moon to illuminate the structure. And what was even more interesting? In the beginning of this grand adventure, after an encounter with Erazor himself, Sonic was cursed, a flaring arrow striking him straight in the heart. Like a counterbalance to the seven Chaos Emeralds, there were seven World Rings that bound the tales together in harmony. It was up to Sonic to collect all seven of them in order to rescue himself from the fate that was cursed upon him. Should the flame of life extinguish from his chest, his life was forfeit, in the words of the mighty Genie. And so, he progressed onward with his friend Shahra by his side, finally encountering the god-like immortal. After a one on one showdown with the monster, Sonic emerged victorious, however Erazor had escaped once more beyond a mystical door that required all seven World Rings to enter. Together the team did enter, encountering him once more. As it seemed like they had the crook cornered, Erazor had another scheme, suddenly calling out to Shahra… “You have done well to gather the seven rings. Now give them to me.” As the flame slowly began to dwindle to nothing upon Sonic’s chest, he had to watch as Shahra, with guilt clearly present in her eyes, betrayed him… He had failed to stop her from giving them to him, but upon a wish from the ring, the blue legend was able to snap her out of her state of betrayal, causing her to collapse to the floor. This would not be the end of Sonic’s troubles however, as he was reminded that the bearer of the rings would be offered up in sacrifice as the key for the control over their power. And Sonic’s life was forfeit either way… One swipe of the Erazor’s blade, and it was all finished. All would end…that is, if Shahra hadn’t interfered.

Taking the fatal blow to the back that would seal her fate, Sonic could only hold her in his arms as she faded away from the world of the Arabian Nights; unable to grant his wish for her to not die. There was no remorse from the Erazor Djinn, as he was suddenly enveloped by the power of the World Rings, mutating into an even more powerful deity. Alf Layla Wa Layla was the result of this incomplete transformation, for Sonic had not been sacrificed. Erazor was now some incomplete monster, and with a shattered ring, and sorrow in his heart over the loss of his friend, the anger began to swell up within him, triggering the power of three World Rings. Pain overwhelmed the hedgehog as he was empowered by the rings. Sadness, Hatred, and Rage, all of these emotions manifested into one to create the ultimate warrior. Darkspine Sonic was born, and he had every intention of crushing the Erazor Djinn with his immense power. In the name of Shahra, through sheer power, rage, and a vicious assault, Darkspine Sonic reverted the chaos that Alf Layla Wa Layla had inflicted, defeating him in the process and reducing him to a mere genie once more. It was finally time to end this feud once and for all, as Sonic wielded the very lamp that belonged to the Erazor Djinn. The Genie of the Lamp was bound to grant three wishes to it’s Master, which became Sonic. First, Sonic wished for him to bring Shahra back to life, and against his will, Erazor fulfilled this wish, returning Shahra to the world of the Arabian Nights. The second wish was to return the Arabian Nights to the way they were so that the worlds could have their stories again. Again, Erazor was forced to grant this wish. And the final wish would finish the battle once and for all, as Sonic wished for the Erazor Djinn to be sealed inside his own lamp for all of eternity.

It was finally over, the worlds were safe, Sonic’s and the Arabian Nights, and he was finally able to return to his home again, living out his life in peace. That was, until Eggman or anyone else decided to stir up trouble. And should that moment arrive, Sonic would be there to thwart their plans, proving time after time again that he would always be there to be a true hero; above all else, he would look forward to the adventures that awaited him.
